It happened to be a factory converted ROTJ and I got it for a fair price. Soon it would be converted back to star wars. Cosmetically I didn’t have much to do with the game, other than replacing the broken canopy plexi. I couldn’t find any reproductions available, so I did some research and bought pre-cut plexi from a local vendor along with plexi drill bits and the heating strip needed to bend my own. Since I had a nice cockpit, my Star Wars upright was quickly traded away. Mongo came to pick it up and dropped off a working Tron along with a nice new set of canopy plexi. Of course. Needless to say the plexi project got shelved.

Fast forward four years and it’s time to revisit the project. I’m tired of moving the plexi around! Plus I need something to keep me busy while I wait for the Berzerk and Frenzy panels to return from the screen printer. Below you’ll see my sample plexi set and the jig I made from a set of canopy parts and plywood. The first set came out great but it needs some slight tweaking. I’ll only have enough material to make 12 sets, so if you need one, drop me a line!

Problem: Game will not power on.
Troubleshoot: This poker game is in very nice shape other than a broken corner on the coin box door. I’m used to seeing these poker’s in horrid shape. This one was so clean I was hopeful for an easy fix. I unloaded the game in my garage and gave it a quick once over. Checked all the fuses and they were fine. Looked over all the connections and found a bad crimp on the single crimp wire near the transformer, the wire just pulled right out. Must have been a bad factory crimp as the wires were stapled in place and not easy to move around.
Solution: Pulled off the bad connector and extracted the pin. Crimped a new male pin in place and put the connector back in place. Powered it on and game fired right up with a nice picture on the monitor. I played a few hands and everything seems to be working just fine. I have no space for this game, so it will be hitting the sale page. Drop me a line if you have any interest in a nice working Poker Machine.

Unfortunately, that means I have to unload a lot of the spare parts I’ve collected over the years. Lots of deals to be had. I can’t keep anything that doesn’t sell, so make an offer if you don’t like the price! The scrap man gets it otherwise :-)

If you aren’t familiar with CTCW you should take a moment to check it out. Great place to buy and sell arcade related items. You only pay fees if your items sell, or if you take advantage of the extra listing features. I just do the basic posts with images so I can post all kinds of odd-ball arcade items without having to pay up front fees. I can re list for free too, great site!
