Gaming on hold!

The summer went by so fast, barely had time to work or play in the arcade. Summer school chewed up a bunch of time and now that the regular school schedule is back, any gaming activity is pretty much on hold until I finish. I have no free time at all. The summer wasn’t a total loss as I did get some interesting bits of info and started some projects, but all that will have to wait. Hope the school year goes by quick!

Midway Wild Kingdom bezel glass scanned!

I’ve been so busy with school that I just haven’t had much time to devote to the hobby. I keep telling myself that I only have about 15 months to go, just hang in there! Ugh. I was able to scan the bezel glass from my Midway Wild Kingdom EM shooter. The glass is in pretty nice shape and another collector was looking to get them reproduced. I hope it works out as I’d like to see it done right.

Reactor artwork ~ good stuff

I’ve been working on a Reactor restoration for a friend, a very patient friend, because I think it was about an eternity ago that I started the project. I plan to wrap it up this winter and thought I would share some pictures of the artwork before it all gets applied. It’s very nice stuff. The artwork came from Darin at Phoenix Arcade, but please don’t pester him, it sold out years ago. Included in the package was the side art, control panel overlay and the marquee overlay. All produced with the top notch quality I’ve come to expect from Phoenix Arcade.

I really like the design of the side art and the liberal use of orange throughout the motif. The package fits the game play very well. Hopefully soon I’ll have this cabinet completed and ready to go. Of course I’ll have to “break it in” to make sure everything works correctly

Wizard of Wor restoration – what’s missing?

I had a little time and since the sun finally made an appearance I figured it was a good opportunity to start going over the WoW mini’s and figure out if I was missing anything important.

Parts for the mini’s have been slowly collected over the years and I was pretty sure I had enough parts to rebuild both games to the factory original specs. I might have to fab the wood support for the cp and rebuild a harness or two, but other than that the restoration looks promising.
