At some point in this crazy hobby you’ll find yourself buying something on eBay or through one of the newsgroups. It’s a part or piece you’ve finally found after months or even years of searching. The last piece of the puzzle to complete a restoration! Except, the guy selling doesn’t care as much as you do, and it shows in the most painful way. In the packing. Luckily for me this part wasn’t critical, I was just hoping it was an improvement over the glass bezel already on my game. Glass bezels have a tendency to flake and collectors are always on the lookout for an upgrade.

So the seller decided to wrap the glass in a towel, put a couple bubble mailers and loose cardboard inside and throw it in a flat box. What could go wrong? UPS package handlers never toss boxes around or stack ten other packages on top of your fragile item, no, of course not. So as you can see, this very nice Sea Wolf bezel didn’t make the trip. Perhaps the seller should read my post about packing correctly, or at least put a little thought into the job! In all fairness he was very sorry and did refund my money. Still sad to see an obscure, vintage video game part tossed into the trash due to carelessness. Sigh.
